Nitrosamines are a group of compounds that result from various pharmaceutical synthesis processes, especially amine reactions. They are potential carcinogens and genotoxins, and their unexpected presence in drugs has been the cause of some recalls and resulting drug shortages.

We have developed a chromatographic method which separates 8 nitrosamines on our 5C₁₈-MS-2 column. This enables detection and quantification of these compounds of concern.
