Mechanism of CCR5 and CXCR4 mediating HIV cells entry

Entry of HIV into host cells requires interaction with the CD4 and is dependent on the activation of one or both of the co-receptors, CCR5 and CXCR4. Drugs and therapies targeting CCR5 and CXCR4 offer new hope for HIV treatment and prevention.
